Vitality Netball Super League

Team Bath Netball have confirmed their squad for the 2018 Vitality Netball Superleague.

Captain Eboni Beckford-Chambers, defensive partner Layla Guscoth and goal-shooter Chelsea Lewis are all returning for the new season.

Beckford-Chambers and Guscoth forged an outstanding partnership during the 2017 campaign, which saw the Blue and Gold concede the fewest goals of any franchise in the competition.

“I am delighted to have signed to Team Bath for the 2018 season,” said Beckford-Chambers.

“I am very much looking forward to building on the promising performances of 2017 and reigniting my partnership with Layla in defence.

“It is always a special feeling to play at the ‘Bath tub’ in front of our Blue and Gold fans and I can’t wait for the season to get underway!”

Newcomers to the 2018 line-up include Josie Janz-Dawson, latterly of West Coast Fever in Australia, as well as rising British star Sophie Drakeford-Lewis.

Fan-favourites Mia Ritchie, the Shaw sisters and Asha Francis return to the fold which includes former Team Bath player Kadeen Corbin, who returns from a stint overseas.

Corbin enjoyed a hugely-successful spell with the South West franchise from 2009 to 2013, coming through the performance pathway to help Team Bath win a record fifth Superleague title in her final season.

She said: “It’s great to be back home and I’m really looking forward to the new season, I cannot wait to get started.

“I’ve worked with Anna and Jess for both Team Bath and England, and the relationship I have them with is amazing.

“No matter where I have been playing, I have always been able to ask them for advice and feedback, and it has always been positive and constructive.”

Tash Pavelin and Abi Robson step up into the squad from the development pathway from which 2018 returning players Paige Reed and Jazz Scott emerged.

Anna Stembridge, Team Bath Netball Superleague Head Coach, said: “We are already into full pre-season training and the players are working hard to be the best they can be. There is a buzz around this squad.”
