Share Former Surrey Storm NPL graduate Chartie Curtis will return to the Sports Park Arena for the 2020 Vitality Superleague season. Curtis, a former England Under 19 captain and Under 21 international, joins from Team Bath, having made her Superleague debut with Storm alongside Director of Netball, Mikki Austin. The defender had an impressive 2019 season with Team Bath before suffering an ACL injury in April. “I trained with Mikki for a season – she was amazing, and really supportive, and that was one of the things that brought me back,” said Curtis. “She definitely leads by example, and when people say it’s a hard-working club that really stems from what she does. “Training alongside such good quality players is really going to help me as a player, as well as the whole team. Absolutely everyone is competing for those top spots (in Superleague) and we have the right mindset to achieve that.” “I’m really thrilled to bring Chartie back to Storm,” said Austin. “To be able to sign someone like Chartie, who is still so young but has Superleague court time under her belt, is a bit of a rarity. But this is also about long-term planning for Storm, as much as what she is going to do for us in one season, as I don’t want a changing squad every year.” To stay up to date with the Vitality Netball Superleague, including player movements, tickets and the latest news make sure you sign up to the Vitality Netball Superleague mailing list, you can sign up here.
