Lightning team up with Computacenter

Loughborough Sport has extended its partnership with Computacenter for the 2020/2021 academic year.

The leading independent technology business will increase its exposure to become the headline sponsor of Loughborough Lightning Rugby the Men’s Performance rugby union team and it will also sponsor Loughborough Lightning Netball for the first time.

Alongside matchday shirt sponsorship, Computacenter will look to recruit top-quality students into their graduate training scheme and also extend the use of Loughborough Sport’s mentoring and coaching opportunities to their employees.

For the previous two years, Computacenter has held leadership development days and associate training on campus which will now be extended to its senior leaders under the new agreement.

Recently the team at Loughborough Sport delivered a range of virtual events at Computacenter’s sales summit focusing on how to Think Well, Eat Well, Exercise Well and Sleep Well.  Using their performance support team and a host of inspiring elite athletes they shared the holistic approach they take to keep performance at the highest level.  These interactive sessions shared advice on how to keep focused, energised and reach your goals to support the well-being and performance of Computacenter’s sales team.

Jo Simpson, Commercial and Facilities Director, Loughborough Sport said, “Computacenter are a high performing organisation who value excellence in all that they do.  Through their shared values they build exceptionally strong relationships with their partners and clients.  Central to their achievements are their employees, who are at the heart of everything that they do.

“Our partnership allows Computacenter unique access to our expert teams and experiences that support their employees to be the best they can be.  Through both virtual and on campus training, mentorship, and experiential team building we are supporting Computacenter to create the leaders of tomorrow.

“Their award-winning graduate scheme is the perfect environment for our University students to thrive in and we are proud to continue to support and help develop both their current and future employees.”

John Beard, Director of Services Sales, Computacenter agreed. “We are incredibly excited to build on the relationship we have developed with Loughborough over the last two years. As we anticipated, our organisations share a common set of winning together values and that alignment has shone through in all of the work that we have undertaken.

“We are delighted to continue our sponsorship of the Lightning and Men’s performance rugby team and to expand our coverage to support the Lightning Netball squad. In addition to the sporting engagements we have seen incredible value in having access to the world-class facilities and resources that Loughborough has to offer.”

John added, “moving forwards, we will look to encourage more Loughborough students into our award-winning Graduate schemes as well as work further with Loughborough to help our existing staff become the best they can be.”
