Surrey Storm are delighted to announce the signings of young talent Sophie Kelly, former Storm Chartie Curtis and Bath pathway talent Abi Robson for the Vitality Netball Superleague (VNSL) side for 2022!

Sophie Kelly was exposed elite level competition to the VNSL last season and thoroughly impressed at goal attack, scoring 65 goals in 13 games and winning Player of the Match in Storm’s Round 1 victory over London Pulse.

Earlier this year Kelly was announced into the England Roses Academy, she commented: “The level of training here is so good, it prepares me well for the academy when I play with top level competition of my own age.”

Curtis returns to Storm where she played her U21’s netball. After moving to Bath, she is back and brings with her long serving Team Bath teammate Abi Robson.

“I am really excited to be back at Storm, I played here at U21 so it is so nice to return and do some of my senior journey here.”

Abi Robson, meanwhile, has spent her netball career thus far only with Team Bath and played a role in the team which made the Grand Final in 2021.

“It’s really exciting to be at a new franchise,” said the defender. “I have always been at Bath and I am really grateful for everything they have done, its going to be really refreshing to do something new with different players and seeing what I can bring to this group.”

Completing the final squad of 15, Mikki Austin commented: “We are extremely pleased to welcome back Sophie Kelly for her second consecutive season! Sophie offers such poise and talent.

“We are also thrilled to bring in two new additions for this coming season to Surrey storm in Chartie and Abi, both bringing a wealth of Superleague experience and talent who will round out our squad nicely.”
