How and when did you get involved in umpiring?
I started umpiring in 2011 following a suggestion from my wife and her teammates.
What has been your favourite memory on or off court?
Flying out to Canada for their National Finals at very short notice. It was a great experience and a really lovely place to go.
Do you have any pre-match rituals before a game?
I will eat chocolate before every game. Normally a Twirl or Chocolate Buttons.
What are your aspirations for the future?
Umpire a World Cup and a Commonwealth Games final.
What is your favourite song to train/work-out too?
I always start a run with “Ashes of the dawn” by DragonForce.
Do you have any embarrassing netball moments?
No. I actively avoid embarrassment.
What is the best part about being a Superleague umpire?
Being able to encourage and inspire other umpires at all levels to push themselves and improve.
Finally, what advice would you have for anyone who wants to Umpire in the Superleague in the future?
Practice and take every experience you can get.
Never be satisfied at just being “okay”; treat every match you umpire as if it’s the most important match you will do.
