Q1 Sirens got the first centre pass, but Funmi Fadoju forced the first pulse turnover in 40 seconds, showing her talent. Unfortunately for Pulse, they were unable to convert, and Sirens scored their first goal. Smooth swift centre pass from London Pulse gets them their first goal. Everitt's relentless pressure forces Sirens centre to receive the ball off the court. The ball was then in the hands of London Pulse, and they took the lead for the first time in the game. Continuous pressure from the Pulse athletes, particularly Tayla Honey, who tipped and collected a pass, allowed Pulse to capitalise on this chance and get the ball to goal. Score 6-5. With both sides still attempting to read one another, the game went goal for goal. However, the Lindsay Keable disrupts this pattern with a stunning rebound. The game's intensity increased, and there was plenty of defensive work happening, but Pulse were unable to capitalise on their opportunities. Q2 No change was made by either team. In the first seconds, London Pulse had an opportunity to draw level with Sirens, but Sirens turnover Pulse's centre pass. McDonald eventually gets the ball and scores for Pulse in this quarter after a mountain of movement to shrug off her defence. Not only has the intensity grown, but also the physicality, particularly between Tayla Honey and her opponent, but she remained unfazed as she sent another wonderful ball to Tchine, bringing Pulse to within one goal of Sirens. Zara Everitt's defensive work up court resulted in a critical turnover, levelling the game. Score: 13-13. This quarter flew by. Pulse went on a two-point run and led by two, but in the final couple minutes, they took their foot off the gas, and the final quarter score was 19-19. Q3 Ellie Rattu came in at C and what an effect she has made since taking to court! There was a big shift of momentum and within 4 minutes Pulse were ahead by 4, 24-20. The squad started to build with confidence, so much that Alicia Scholes was able to deliver a huge pass into Tchine. Ellie Rattu also capitalised on Pulse's flow and was confident in giving a long ball into Tchine too. Score 27-22 to pulse. Sirens eventually got the ball to their shooters but Keable's lean over the shot was did not allow them to take it goal. Pulse scored 17 goals in the third quarter, showing the meaning of 'championship quarter'. Quarter score 36-26 Q4 Pulse started the fourth quarter firing as they got the first turnover and first goal. During Sirens centre pass the pressure from defence was so good that it sets up Alicia Scholes to get an attacking intercept and sends it down court expand the gap to 39-26. Jasmin Odeogberin, Berri Neil and Kira Rothwell all entered the game to add a bit more variety onto the court. Again, Lindsay Keable came through with a flying intercept and the transition from Pulse was swift allowing Rothwell to slot her first shot of the game in. However, Sirens were not finished as they also upped the gear after having a run of three, but it was no issue for the London Pulse as they scored on their C pass. In the last few second Keable got a big tip and Pulse push it rapidly down court although time ran out, but it was no problem for the Pink Army as they grab their 6th win of the season.
