2015 Vitality Netball Superleague champions Surrey Storm bounced back from their Super Saturday defeat to register a first win of the new campaign.

A packed Surrey Sports Park roared on their heroes to a 57-35 victory over Team Northumbria on Friday night.

It was a defensive masterclass from the hosts as Player of the Match Hannah Reid led from the back. The visitors took the fight to their illustrious opponents, so much so that Nicole Dixon was the first player in the 2016 season to be sent off as she was dismissed for persistent fouling in the final quarter.
