Loughborough Lightning Manchester Thunder

Lightning silence Thunder in Round 1

An impressive performance from Loughborough Lightning saw them take a 59-45 victory over 2016 Vitality Netball Superleague runners-up, Manchester Thunder in the East Midlands on Saturday evening.

The two sides were extremely closely matched and although the home side managed to pull eight goals clear by half-time, a fantastic fight back by Thunder drew them back to within three goals at the end of Q3.

Lightning flew out of the blocks in the final quarter and overpowered their visitors to seal the win. The official match report from Loughborough Lightning can be found here.
