How does the Netball Super Cup work?
The Netball Super Cup is a brand-new one-day standalone tournament where NSL fans can see all eight Clubs take to court for the first time, battling it out to be crowned the first ever Netball Super Cup champions.
The eight teams have been split into two pools for the group stages, during which each team will play three shorter length, 7-a-side games.
Following the group stages, the top two teams from each group will progress to the semi-finals with two teams then making it through to the final where the first-ever Netball Super Cup champions will be crowned.
Each game will be 14 minutes long, consisting of two seven-minute halves.
Which new rules and innovations will be in play at the Netball Super Cup?
Ahead of the League’s relaunch, the NSL has revealed a number of new rules and innovations designed to create more unmissable moments for fans and supercharge the excitement of each and every match. Some of these will be seen for the very first time at the Netball Super Cup. Find out more below:
Yes, the Soft & Gentle Super Shot will be in play for the very first time at the Netball Super Cup, during the final three minutes of each half.
No, there will be no tactical time outs at the Netball Super Cup.
There will be no extra time in Netball Super Cup group games, which can end in a draw. However, in the semi-finals and final, if the scores are level after 14 minutes, play will continue until one team leads by two goal points. The Soft & Gentle Super Shot will remain in play throughout this extended time, meaning that one Soft & Gentle Super Shot has the potential to win the game on the spot!
