Share Mavericks are excited to announce the launch of our U19 Mavericks Futures training squad and the names of those players selected. Read their full press release below: This squad is packed full of talented U19 players who have demonstrated great future potential. All players involved screened for the 2017 NPL squad and progressed to the latter stages. This squad will be coached by former Head Coach Maggie Jackson, who will be joined each session by a Mavericks NSL player to focus on particular positional coaching. The aim being to capitalise on the potential these players have shown to prepare them for the next step up to the NPL. To aid in this, our NPL coaches will also lead the initial two sessions within the programme. Maggie Jackson had this to say: “All of these players were identified as having fantastic potential during the NPL screening and given specific areas to work on in their development. At Mavericks we are dedicated to developing players of all ages from within that can progress to NPL and ultimately NSL and this group have that potential. This squad also fills a vital gap between our Development section and the NPL squad, ensuring that we are able to nurture the great young talent we have at our fingertips.” Maggie continued: “I am personally delighted to be working with this group of players and looking forward to seeing the leaps forward they make during this time. I’m also very excited that our SuperLeague squad and NPL coaches will be working with this group as it enables the young players to work with those they admire and also to visualize the pathway they are on”.
