Netball Super League | Wasps retain the services of Fran Williams

Wasps Netball have announced the signing of Vitality Rose Fran Williams.

The exciting defender has risen to fame across the world with a string of sensational displays for Wasps Netball since her move from Surrey Storm. In this time she has earned a call up to the Vitality Roses where her reputation among netballs elite, fans and pundits has gone from strength to strength.

Williams exceptional performances and continued development earned her a place in the Vitality Roses World Cup squad in 2019 where she went on to win a Bronze Medal.

More recently Williams was causing a stir not only with her defensive performance against New Zealand in the most recent test but also with some superb passing

Retaining the services of such an exciting and high profile player bodes well for Wasps as they go in search of their third Superleague title.

Wasps have reached the Grand Final in every full season they have competed in the competition. Entering their fifth season they will be hoping to maintain this record and a solid defence where Fran Williams is set to feature heavily will be key.

Williams becomes the 13^th player to be announced by the Coventry based franchise and fans will be eagerly awaiting news of the remaining two members of the squad as we go into the Signing Window deadline day on Friday 30 October.
