Jade Clarke and Chelsea Pitman will help London Pulse challenge for the title this season

London Pulse have retained the large majority of their history-making squad, with two massive additions signed to help Sam Bird mount a title charge.

Last season Pulse made club history by finishing in the Top 4 of the VNSL for the first time since they were founded in 2016.

This season, Head Coach and CEO Sam Bird is looking to build on that achievement and make history once again.

Joining 10 of the retained members from the record breaking 2022 squad are England Roses and Commonwealth gold medallists Jade Clarke and Chelsea Pitman.

Sam Bird said: “Last year was a breakout season for our club making the Top 4 playoffs.

“However, the pain of not making the final, means that this year we are working to win the NSL championship.

“It’s clear from our player roster that we have the quality and strength in depth to be viewed as serious contenders to do that.

“I’m also proud to have retained the same outstanding performance staff to work alongside. The stability of the performance staff is also an essential key to our success this year,” added Bird.

Formerly of Leeds Rhinos, Clarke has a wealth of international experience, having competed at five Commonwealth Games and five World Championships since her debut in 2003.

The 38-year-old is England’s most capped player of all time, and was inducted into the England Netball Hall of Fame in 2015.

Mid-courter Pitman, meanwhile, has spent most of her career in Australia and New Zealand, most recently with West Coast Fever.

The 34-year-old had one season in England with Manchester Thunder and is renowned for her pace and flair.

Returning for 2022 are: Lindsay Keable, Halimat Adio, Zara Everitt, Funmi Fadoju, Ellie Rattu, Ashleigh Dekker, Alicia Scholes, Olivia Tchine, Sacha McDonald & Berri Neil.
