The Netball Super League (NSL)’s new trophy was revealed live last night on BBC’s The One Show.
Produced by EFX, a female-owned and led business specialising in creating unique trophies, awards and more for clients in the UK and across the world, the trophy was designed by female designer Liz Tilly.
Tilly brings a wealth of creativity and precision to the world of bespoke awards. With a keen eye for detail and a passion for innovative design, the NSL trophy is the latest in a long line of iconic trophies that she has been instrumental in crafting in recent years.
As the NSL relaunches in 2025 entering a bold new era, Tilly wanted to create a trophy that was representative of the League and its values. The importance of tradition is recognised in the shape of the award, whilst the separating elements as the award rises are symbolic of the rapid transcendence and upward momentum of female professional sport.
Negative space is incorporated into the design, ensuring that the players lifting the trophy will be clearly seen and not overshadowed. And finally, Tilly felt it was also important to create a piece that can be viewed from different perspectives to reveal more details and design elements. This is representative of how curiosity and open-mindedness rewards exploration of a concept, in perfect alignment with the NSL’s commitment to continue to push the boundaries to deliver a world-class sportainment product for netball fans.

Commenting on the new trophy, Claire Nelson, Managing Director of the Netball Super League, said: “As we relaunched the League this year, we wanted to create a trophy that is beautiful, unique and aspirational. In line with our commitment to illuminate the indisputable power of women both on and off the court, working with a female-led business to bring this vision to life has been hugely important. Together we have created an incredible trophy that truly reflects the new era we have entered and is something that NSL Champions for many years to come will feel proud to lift.”
Holly McLeish, Director at EFX said: “As a female-owned and led business, we’re incredibly proud to champion British manufacturing and the vital role it plays in both our economy and our creative industries. The nature of our business always presents us with interesting and exciting projects and having the opportunity to design and produce the prestigious trophy for the Netball Super League is a genuine honour. It represents not just excellence in sport, but the power of female achievement and leadership, values that resonate deeply with our team and our company ethos.”
The new trophy was revealed for the very first time on BBC’s The One Show after a host of stars from across the BBC tried their hand at the Soft & Gentle Super Shot.
