The Netball Super League has confirmed that the Grand Final at The O2 will be the biggest England Netball ticketed event ever, and the biggest netball match in England since 2002, with more tickets sold than for any day at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham and the 2019 Netball World Cup in Liverpool.
The Netball Super League (NSL) Grand Final will be played at The O2, London, for the very first time on Sunday 6 July where reigning champions Loughborough Lightning will take on London Pulse who are bidding for their first NSL title. After record-breaking ticket sales, the game, which will also be broadcast live on Sky Sports, will not only be the League’s biggest Grand Final ever, but also the biggest England Netball ticketed event ever and the most attended netball match the country has seen since 2002, marking a spectacular finale to the first season of the relaunched League.
Managing Director of the NSL, Claire Nelson said: “I am thrilled that the 2025 Grand Final will be our biggest Grand Final ever. To achieve such a significant milestone in the first year of this new era of the NSL is hugely exciting and is testament to the continued growing appetite among sports fans for the exceptional sport-tainment experience that our live events offer. I am so proud that we’re able to provide our formidable female athletes with the platform that they deserve and I can’t wait to be part of this historic crowd at an iconic venue as London Pulse and Loughborough Lightning put on what is guaranteed to be an epic display of live elite netball in the capital this weekend.”
This record-breaking crowd comes at the end of a historic season for the League, which was relaunched in 2025 at the start of a journey to professionalisation in a bid to become the most competitive, commercially vibrant and captivating netball league in the world. A number of new rules and innovations were introduced to create more edge-of-your-seat moments, including the Soft & Gentle Super Shot and extra time, meaning that no games could end in a draw. This season, more than 50% of matches have been played in major arenas, including bringing the Grand Final to The O2 for the very first time, and every single game has been broadcast across the League’s broadcast partners, Sky Sports and BBC Sport, compared to 40% of games broadcast in 2024.
These changes have resulted in significant growth both in match attendances, and in broadcast and digital figures across the 2025 season. In addition to the record-breaking crowd expected at The O2, there has been an average 42% increase in match attendances across the League this year compared to the 2024 season. Round 1-10 of the 2025 season saw a 229% increase in live viewing hours in comparison to the entire 2024 season, and the League’s social channels continued to grow at pace, with the League experiencing a 524% increase in TikTok views in the 2025 season.*
