NSL 2026 signing window: how does it work?

Following the epic conclusion of the 2025 NSL season on Sunday 6 July at The O2, London the signing window and squad announcement window for the 2026 season is now open. Below are all the details you need to know.
All you need to know
The signing window is a period whereby athletes who are not in multi-year contracts with their NSL club are able to have conversations with any club in the League with a view to agree a signed contract for either one or two seasons. The signing window is open from 7 July - 29 August 2025. At the close of the 29 August, all clubs must have signed and registered their ten NSL players with the League.
The signing window allows teams to fully form their squads by bringing in players from other clubs, reinstating those who have played for their club in previous seasons, or elevating NXT Gen players.
This is a formal registration period that takes place between NSL clubs and the NSL where vital documents and procedures must be submitted and followed for the players to be eligible to compete in the upcoming season. This includes contracts, medical insurance forms, right to work checks and visa checks (for overseas players).
The squad announcement window is the period where clubs are able to announce their NSL squads for the 2026 season. The squad announcement window is live from 7 July - 5 September 2025, offering clubs flexibility to announce their new-look squad in a way which works best for the club, athletes and fans.
As per 2025, each club must have a total of ten registered players in their squad.
