NSL Clubs celebrate the 2025 season

The Netball Super League Clubs have been celebrating the 2025 season by hosting their annual awards evenings, recognising the hard work and dedication of their players, staff, and volunteers across the season.

London Pulse   

  • Coaches’ Player of the Year: Funmi Fadoju

  • Ridge Crest Spirit Award (presented to the athlete who demonstrated the Club’s values of innovation, integrity, humility, hard work, ambition and teamwork above and beyond the rest of the group): Tyler Orr  

Loughborough Lightning   

  • Olivia Murphy Award (presented to the coaches’ player of the season): Hannah Joseph   

  • Karen Atkinson Award (presented to the athlete who demonstrates an outstanding contribution to supporting the Lightning Community Programme): Shadine van der Merwe  

  • Most Improved Player: Alice Harvey  

  • Players’ Player: Shadine van der Merwe  

  • VC Gold Award (presented by the University of Loughborough’s Vice Chancellor to a student, member of staff or member of the university community who has displayed an amazing achievement or commitment to making a difference to those around them): Jackie Milsom (Team Manager)  

Manchester Thunder  

  • Members’ Player of the Season: Josie Huckle  

  • Pat Greenwood Commitment Award: Elia McCormick  

  • Most Improved Player: Emma Rayner  

  • Players’ Player of the Season: Taylor McKevitt  

  • Coaches’ Player of the Season: Taylor McKevitt  

London Mavericks  

  • Fans’ Player of the Season: Suzie Liverseidge   

  • Players’ Player of the Season: Suzie Liverseidge   

  • Coaches’ Player of the Season: Razia Quashie   

  • Maggie Jackson Award (presented in honour of the former Mavericks Head Coach and Director of Performance to someone who works unbelievably hard, never gives up and is always trying to be better, both for themselves and the team): Suzie Liverseidge   

Nottingham Forest  

  • Players’ Player Award: Iona Christian   

  • Fans’ Player Award: Rolene Streutker  

  • Coaches’ Player Award: Niamh Cooper  

  • Club Champion: Rolene Streutker  

Birmingham Panthers  

  • Fans’ Player of the Season: Betsy Creak  

  • Players’ Player of the Season: Jas Brown  

  • Coaches’ Player of the Season: Betsy Creak  

LexisNexis Cardiff Dragons   

  • Players’ Player: Elle McDonald  

  • Most Improved Player: Alex Johnson

NIC Leeds Rhinos  

  • Fans’ Player of the Season: Cassie Howard 

  • Spirit of the Rhino (voted for by Rhinos’ players, staff and directors, the award recognises someone who lives the club’s values on and off the court): Gerry Plant  

  • Coaches’ Player of the Season: Joyce Mvula  

  • Maggie Birkinshaw Club Champion Award (named after the former Rhinos Assistant Coach, the award is presented to the player displaying outstanding conduct, commitment and contribution to the club): Joyce Mvula 

  • Players’ Player of the season: Cassie Howard 

The NSL has also been celebrating the season with the annual League awards, including the Fans’ Player of the Year, being announced on NSL social media channels. View the full list of award winners here. 

Now that the NSL 2025 season has ended, the signing window is open until 29 August with clubs able to announce their squads until 5 September. You can follow all the ins and outs across the League here.
