Elmeré van der Berg was made to wait for her Netball Super League debut, but has more than made up for lost time.
The South African shooter was originally meant to arrive in the UK for the 2023 season before injury delayed that by a year.
Van der Berg signed for Manchester Thunder ahead of the 2024 season, replacing compatriot Lenize Potgieter in the circle, and made an immediate impact in her first season.
She scored 570 goals for Thunder in the 2024 season and helped them to the Grand Final, where they lost to Loughborough Lightning.
Van der Berg made her international debut for South Africa against Zimbabwe in 2021, and went on to represent her country at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, and at a home World Cup in Cape Town in 2023.
Born in Bloemfontein, Van der Berg represented South Africa at Under-20 and Under-21 levels before making the step up to the senior international stage.
