I started umpiring in my local league in Lincoln when I was 14.

Specifically- achieving my IUA at the Celtic Cup. Generally, travelling and umpiring at some amazing events with some talented players and teams. Meeting some fantastic friends for life.

Do you have any pre-match rituals before a game?

I try not to have any set rituals but I like to arrive in plenty of time so I have time to relax, have a cup of tea and something to eat.

Who has had the biggest influence on your umpiring so far?

Lincolnshire and the East Midlands have a fantastic network of umpires, mentors and assessors and they have been instrumental to my officiating journey.

What is the best part about being a Super League umpire?

Being part of a fantastic team on and off the court.

What advice would you give to someone considering becoming an umpire?

Gain lots of experience and take as many opportunities as you can. Enjoy umpiring at every level and focus on doing your best and enjoying whatever you are umpiring.
