How and when did you get involved in umpiring?
By umpiring at local league for my team that needed an umpire to be allocated in order to enter the league and at that stage appreciating the extra money whilst being at University.
What has been your favourite memory on or off court?
My favourite memories were made during Covid season when we spent half the season in Wakefield and the other half in London particularly the swan pedalo rides.
I also have some very fond memories of team bonding during a trip to the Maccabiah Games in Israel which was an awesome experience!
Do you have any pre-match rituals before a game?
I always try to listen to the same set of songs whilst warming up before entering the court.
Who has had the biggest influence on your umpiring so far?
My mentors in the South West particularly Danny, Claire and Gina who have always been so supportive and used to transport me to games when I couldn't drive.
Alongside my family they have been my go to people throughout my umpiring career.
What is the best part about being a Super League umpire?
Making some really great friendships whilst being part of a good team, experiencing different arenas and playing styles of teams.
What advice would you give to someone considering becoming an umpire?
Taking a risk and trying something new could be the making of you.
Listen to those people around you and take on board any feedback you receive.
If you want to achieve then you need to believe in yourself.
