Career highlights

Umpiring the Suncorp Super Netball League Grand Final in 2020

How and when did you get involved in umpiring?

I grew up playing netball and played in the Victorian and Australian underage men’s netball teams. I initially started umpiring in my local league to earn some pocket money during high school, but it quickly became a passion.

What has been your favourite memory on or off court?

There are too many to pick from but I have loved the opportunity to meet and umpire alongside so many amazing umpires from around the world.

Do you have any pre-match rituals before a game?

I follow a similar warm up prior to each match that is timed to a music playlist.

Who has had the biggest influence on your umpiring so far?

There have been many people who have influenced my umpiring journey, but to highlight two - Cathy Gallop at Netball Victoria and Sharon Kelly at Netball Australia

What is the best part about being a Super League umpire?

The opportunity to umpire some of the best netball talent in the world and playing a role in creating an environment where they can showcase their skills.

What advice would you give to someone considering becoming an umpire?

Give it a go and be open to every opportunity that comes your way. Umpiring offers a diverse range of experiences, challenges and rewards, and you never know where it might take you.
