How and when did you get involved in umpiring?

Local league and we needed an umpire every week to help. I then volunteered to help with doing my C award.

What has been your favourite memory on or off court?

When I played regional level and we came second in the league by goal difference! Such a great season with great friends.

Do you have any pre-match rituals before a game?

Yes really strict rituals around my warm up!

What are your aspirations for the future?

I’d love to become an international umpire.

Roger Perham

What is your favourite song to train/work-out too?

Emilie Sande – Run

Do you have any embarrassing netball moments?

Forgetting my whistle and realising when reaching the goal line!

What is the best part about being a Superleague umpire?

Reaching my ambition I’ve been working towards for a long time.

Finally, what advice would you have for anyone who wants to Umpire in the Superleague in the future?

Work hard, take on board feedback, watch, listen and get good coaching/mentoring.
