Stephanie Collard has penned a new deal with Saracens Mavericks which will see her remain at the club for the upcoming Vitality Netball Superleague (VNSL) season starting in February 2021.

The 30-year-old is now entering her sixth year with the Hertfordshire outfit and made her VNSL debut with the side during the 2018 campaign.

Balancing a full-time physio role and training with squad, Collard provides the inspiration when it comes to determination and loyalty.

Known for her brilliant understanding of the game and an insatiable thirst to increase her on-court knowledge, Collard pushes her teammates just as hard as she pushes herself.

The versatile player can also start on court in a number of positions which makes her a valuable squad player over the course of a long Superleague season.

She has been known to play centre, wing attack or even wing defence during her time at Hertfordshire Sports Village.

According to her Head Coach, Kat Ratnapala, Collard will be a fine addition to her 15-strong squad as the club aim regain a place in top four.

Ratanapala had previously said on Collard: “Steph is a hard-working, gutsy and talented athlete. She is a fantastic team member and we’re excited to continue to work with her this season.”

Collard’s re-signing follows the earlier announcement that captain Sasha Corbin would be returning for her tenth season with the club.

Earlier this week, news broke that ‘rookies’ Bella Baylis and Britney Clarke would be making the step up to the VNSL with Aliyah Zaranyika also recommitting after making her debut at the Season Opener in 2020.

Last week, Mavericks made it known that a handful of Vitality Roses in Kadeen Corbin, Jodie Gibson, Razia Quashie and Gabby Marshall would also be staying in Hertfordshire next term.

With more players to be revealed over the coming hours and days, be sure to keep your eyes peeled on social to find out who will be joining them for 2021.
