Goal attack Frankie Wells has returned to Surrey Storm for the 2022 Vitality Netball Superleague (VNSL) season.

Wells started the majority of Storm’s games last term – partnering with now retired shooter Karyn Bailey in the circle – and will be gain similar court time next year. She scored 107 goals in 17 appearances last season.

After successfully working her way through the Storm NPL pathway, Wells enters her third season in duck egg blue. She scored 107 goals in 17 appearances last season and her sharp shooting will once again be a weapon for Head Coach Mikki Austin to utilise in 2022.

Delighted to be back, Wells said: “I am so excited to return to Surrey Storm and get straight back into working towards the teams goal with my hard working peers.

“I’m looking forward to seeing the progress and development of the team, but also seeing what personal boundaries I can push myself past and achieve the goals I’ve set myself.

It’s a long off-season for the Storm players and Frankie has been enjoying the break.

“My off-season has been really enjoyable and I have filled my time with seeing friends and family that I wouldn’t usually get the opportunity to see when in season,” she said.

“I have been working hard at the same time to make sure I bring the best Frankie to the team when we’re back together.”

Head Coach and teammate Mikki Austin added: “We are really pleased to welcome back Frankie Wells.

“She played a big part last season in that goal attack position, but also offers us a double threat being a really strong shooter option for us as well.

“I’m really looking forward to working with Frankie and developing her game and I can’t wait to see what she can do this season.”

Wells becomes Surrey Storm’s fourth signing of the 2022 Signing Window after Mikki Austin, Yasmin Parsons and Niamh Cooper. You can see the Storm squad as it develops here.
