Francesca has previously played with Storm as part of the NPL squad between 2011-2014, and she now returns with a wealth of experience both on the national and international front.

Francesca’s international career has seen her awarded MVP while playing for England during the 2013 U18’s Tri Nations tournament held in South Africa. She was also named as one of the top 7 players during the 2014 U21s World Championships.

In 2015 Wells was part of the first ever mixed youth squad held in Australia. However, perhaps her greatest achievement to date was in 2016 where she captained England nets U21 team during the 2016 World Championships held in New Zealand, while there she was nominated the 6s best player of the tournament.

Speaking of her international accomplishments, Francesca said “This international success would not have been achievable if I did not have the support and invaluable coaching from Sarah Taffy and the late Tom Reseigh, who I owe my Superleague squad place to and will never be able to explain how grateful I am to have had Tom and Taffy as a part of my sporting career.”

Alongside this Francesca also commented on her return to Surrey Storm by saying: “I am so excited to be one of Surrey Storm’s new signings for this coming Superleague season!

“I’m very excited to see what the season has to offer and to work with such an amazing squad of players and coaching team. My netball past has seen me through multiple ups and downs and all the hard work and perseverance has resulted in achieving my dream of becoming a Superleague player, even better a Storm squad member!”
