Picture by Jonathan Barry 6.5.17 Severn Stars’ Head Coach Mo’onia Gerrard has called on her side to “give it their all” in their final Vitality Netball Superleague game of the season. Stars will be in for a tough test on Saturday (June 3) as they visit third-placed Manchester Thunder, who are already guaranteed a spot in this season’s Final Four contest. But despite some recent tough losses, Gerrard said that she still believes her team can triumph in Saturday’s game away at the Manchester Thunderdome. “I believe in the girls,” said Gerrard. “They’ve got big hearts and they’re an awesome bunch, so I just want them to give it their all for each other in the last game. This Manchester match is just 60 minutes of our lives. “It’s going to be a tough game. We played them at home and really gave them a challenge, but, as with some of our previous matches, we had one quarter where we really took our foot off the gas.” Stars, a joint partnership between the University of Worcester and University of Gloucestershire, head into the game off the back of a disappointing 42-48 defeat to Hertfordshire Mavericks at the University of Worcester Arena. But Gerrard wants to see improvement in her side’s performance in the Superleague curtain-closer. “Against Hertfordshire, in the second quarter, we shot eight goals. We’re not going to win a game with only eight goals in 15 minutes,” said Gerrard. “That just shows us that we really need to push each other on and apply that pressure when we need it.” Related news post 12 hours ago How Niamh Cooper learned to embrace her body Reading: 4 mins Severn Stars Previous Story Can Wasps provide a sting in Final Four tale?
