Share England mid-courter Tamsin Greenway has today announced her immediate retirement from all forms of netball. The former Surrey Storm player-coach led her side to the 2015 Netball Superleague title before clinching Bronze with England at the Netball World Cup this summer. Tamsin will continue in her role as coach of the Surrey Storm for the 2016 Vitality Netball Superleague season. Having had a chance to reflect following her return from Australia, the hugely popular Wing Attack has now called time on a highly decorated playing career. Tamsin said “After a lot of thought I decided it was time to hang up the trainers! “I couldn’t think of a more fitting way to end my playing career than winning the Superleague with the mighty Surrey Storm and then playing the summer out in the red dress at the World Cup in Sydney, bringing home the Bronze. “I’m not sure many seasons would top that and so I felt it might be best to quit whilst I was ahead” She added “So many people have helped, guided, supported and looked after me over the years. To all my teammates, coaches, teachers, friends and sponsors I owe a great deal. “Special thanks have to go to Rob Bond and Barbara Norman who started it all, my parents who have played every game with me and more, and of course the ‘oracle’ of netball Lyn Gunson. “I’m so looking forward to what I can do for netball from the side lines, without the aches and pains!” Related news post 2 days ago Where to Watch: Round 12 Reading: 6 mins Cardiff Dragons London Pulse Loughborough Lightning Manchester Thunder Saracens Mavericks Severn Stars Strathclyde Sirens Surrey Storm Team Bath Tags: Surrey Storm Tamsin Greenway Next Story Team Northumbria sign Jamaican duo More News 1 day ago News How Niamh Cooper learned to embrace her body Reading: 4 mins 2 days ago News Where to Watch: Round 12 Reading: 6 mins 2 days ago News Netball Super League broadcast fixtures for rounds 14 and 15 announced Reading: 1 min 30th Apr 2024 News #SeeUsNow video series on netballers’ experiences and women’s health launches Reading: 3 mins 30th Apr 2024 video Round 11 Highlights: Leeds Rhinos vs Loughborough Lightning More Google Ad – MPU – Right Column
