Vitality Netball Super League

Wasps Netball are determined to bring their impressive away form back home when they take on Celtic Dragons in the Vitality Netball Superleague.

Tamsin Greenway’s side face Celtic Dragons at the Ricoh Arena on Friday, April 7 (8.00pm centre-pass) – following an away trip which saw the team topple league leaders Surrey Storm last weekend.

Celtic Dragons are still without a win in their opening seven games of the season and sit at the bottom of the League Table as the half-way point approaches.

Wasps Netball have experienced a mixed start to the season, remaining unbeaten away from home, but are still looking to show their very best form in front of their vocal home supporters at the Ricoh Arena.

Wasps Director of Netball Tamsin Greenway says that the team are determined to show the fans exactly what they are capable of.

She said: “It is really important to us that we put out a good performance at home in this game.

“We’ve not played our best at home, we’ve got to step up when we’re in-front of our brilliant home crowd and replicate how well we have been playing away from home.

“Celtic Dragons are still looking for their first win this season but we know that anyone can beat anyone in this league and we’ll be going into this game as ready as we always are to get the win.

“You can’t underestimate anyone in this league, it will be a big task for us on Friday but I’m positive the girls will come through it.

“We felt like we turned a corner on the attacking end against Surrey Storm, we will be looking to build on that against Dragons.

“I know that all the players will give it their all on the court on Friday and give our home fans the performance they deserve.”

Wasps star centre Bongi Msomi added: “It’s a matter of us connecting well as a team, from there we can continue to grow and develop some consistency.

“Our fans come down in huge numbers, they are always behind us and this game will be our opportunity to show them exactly what we can do.”

The Wasps Fan Village will be open from 4.45pm before the game, with a casino inspired theme to provide pre-match entertainment in the lead-up to the game.

Wasps Netball U17s take on Wales U17s at 5pm, providing the perfect warm-up for the Vitality Netball Superleague fixture.

Tickets for Wasps vs Celtic Dragons on April 7 start from £10 for adults while under-10s go free, and can be purchased from www.waspsnetball.co.uk/tickets.
