Strathclyde Sirens’ Friday night game against Severn Stars has become the second game of Round 10 in the Vitality Netball Superleague to be postponed.

A statement on Thursday confirmed the news and a new date will be arranged in due course – and Sirens have confirmed that tickets purchased for the original game will be transferred to the new date.

On Wednesday Team Bath’s Vitality Netball Superleague clash with Saracens Mavericks in Round 10 is off following fresh positive Covid cases in the Team Bath squad.

Anna Stembridge’s squad had been hit by last week with Imogen Allison, Layla Guscoth, Tash Pavelin and Kirsty Harris all ruled out of the defeat to Wasps.

With all four players still ruled out, and fresh positive cases within the playing squad, Team Bath now do not have enough players to fulfil the fixture.

A statement on Wednesday confirmed the news that Friday’s game – due to be played at Team Bath Arena and streamed on the Sky Sports YouTube channel – is now off.

A new date will be announced in due course and Bath have confirmed that tickets purchased for the game will remain valid for the rescheduled fixture.

“Thank you to Saracens Mavericks and the Vitality Netball Superleague for their understanding in this difficult situation, and for supporting an early decision to postpone the match so we can give ticket-holders plenty of notice,” said Team Bath Netball Franchise Manager Alicia John.

“We had sold all but a handful of tickets for Friday and know this will be disappointing news for fans but we hope they will understand the exceptional circumstances.

“We will provide further details as soon as we can about the new date.”

It is the second Superleague game this season to be postponed in line with Covid protocols – more details on which you can find here.

Loughborough Lightning’s clash with Leeds Rhinos at Season Opener weekend was also called off and will now take place on Friday April 29th.
